Hi! We’re Danny and Emily (a.k.a Demily), a couple who fell in love with both each other and the thrill of exploring new places. Our story began at Ohio State, where we met in college, became close friends, and eventually started dating. After graduating in 2019 with degrees in Computer Science and Engineering, we moved to Virginia to begin our careers. We spent over four years there, but as much as we loved it, we realized we weren’t ready to settle down—we wanted to see more of the world and embrace a life of adventure.

Our passion for travel started early in our relationship. Our first adventure took us underground at Mammoth Cave National Park, and our first big trip together was an unforgettable spring break visiting Zion, Bryce Canyon, and the Grand Canyon. That trip cemented our love for exploring national parks, which has now grown into a goal: visiting all 63 U.S. National Parks (we’re at 29 and counting!).
Like many, our work-from-home journey began in 2020, when we thought we’d be remote for just a couple of weeks. Instead, it turned into an entirely new way of life, giving us the flexibility to travel while working. In late 2023, we took it a step further—moving out of Virginia and moving in with family in Pittsburgh, freeing us to explore without the weight of a lease or mortgage. We also discovered housesitting through Trusted Housesitters, allowing us to experience new places like true locals while caring for adorable pets.
Our travel philosophy is all about immersive, budget-friendly experiences. Instead of rushing through a checklist of must-see sights, we prefer slow travel, staying in one place long enough to absorb its culture, food, and lifestyle. We like to call ourselves “short-term locals,” whether we’re sipping Guinness in Dublin, hiking in Yosemite, or navigating winding roads in Costa Rica.
We started this blog to share our adventures, travel tips, and lessons learned along the way. From finding the best credit card points deals to planning DIY itineraries, we hope to inspire others to travel smarter and deeper. More than anything, we want this space to be a mix of stories, advice, and a journal of our ever-evolving journey.
Join us as we explore the world, one adventure at a time—preferably with a National Park passport stamp and a postcard in hand!
